What we do

Three kinds of call, and what each one costs you

  1. Crew installing a synthetic slate roof on a brick home
    No charge

    Inspection and leak tracing

We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and tell you whether it needs doing now, in a year, or not at all. Plenty of our inspections end with “leave it alone”.

  2. Roof replacement in progress on an older two story home
    Usually one visit

    Repairs and flashing

Most leaks are flashing, not shingles. We fix the cause rather than smearing sealant over it, and most repairs are finished the same day we look.

  3. Roofers working across the back slope of a brick house
    Two to three days

    Full replacement

Tear-off to the deck, replace anything rotten, new underlayment, ice-and-water at the eaves and valleys, then shingles. One crew, start to finish.

What the job looks like

The messy middle, and the part you actually pay for

Every roofer shows you the finished photo. Here is the other half — what your house looks like partway through, so nothing about the week is a surprise.

Day one
A house mid tear-off, old shingles stripped and the decking open
Tear-off and deck inspection
  • Drive, beds and AC unit covered before a single shingle comes off
  • Every sheet of rotten decking is photographed and sent to you before it is replaced
  • Rot is priced per sheet at a rate that is on your estimate, so there is no negotiation on the roof
This is the day we find anything the old roof was hiding
Day three
A red brick house with a finished roof and a clean, trimmed lawn
Finished, cleaned, photographed
  • Ice-and-water shield at every eave, valley and penetration
  • Ridge vent cut and installed, not just capped over
  • A photo set of the finished roof, and the warranty in writing
Magnet-swept twice before we pull the trucks off

These are two stages of the same kind of job rather than the same house on the same week — a tear-off and a finished roof never photograph well on the same afternoon.

How it works

  1. 01

    Call or send the form

Tell us what you're seeing. A photo helps, even a bad one.

  2. 02

    We come and look

Free, and we'll tell you if the answer is "leave it alone for now".

  3. 03

    Written estimate

Itemised, so you can see what's labor, what's material, and what's optional.

  4. 04

    Scheduled and done

You get a date, not a window of weeks. We clean up before we leave.

Why homeowners pick us

You talk to the person who prices the roof

No call center, no commissioned salesperson in your kitchen, no price that expires when he leaves. The person who climbs your roof is the person who writes the estimate and the person answering the phone when the crew is there.

If we're not the right company — the roof has five good years left, or the job is really a siding job — we'll say so. That costs us one job and earns the next three.

What neighbors say

  • ★★★★★

They found the leak in twenty minutes after two other companies told us we needed a whole new roof. It was a cracked boot on a vent pipe. Ninety dollars.

The estimate listed the decking rate up front, so when they found four bad sheets there was no argument about it on the day. That is the whole reason I picked them.

Crew was here at seven, gone by Thursday afternoon, and I have not found a single nail in the driveway.
